COULD YOU BE A VOLUNTEER ADMIN?

"The people I’ve met through this - sometimes it’s hard to meet like-minded people and when I started volunteering I suddenly found a warm, positive, caring community. I love that!” - Diane

“I can work at any time of the day or night, fit it into my busy schedule and I still feel like I’ve done something really useful to help others.” - Yasmin

All of us who arrange credit every week for refugees and displaced people are volunteers.

We call ourselves ‘admins’ - as we are the admins of the Facebook page that powers it all.   The idea and the whole group grew out of credit requests to our founder while volunteering in Calais, and the ethos has stayed the same - it's just got bigger. A very large number of individuals, helping a large number of other individuals that need it.

Find out a bit more about the role in these few fun questions, and see whether you would suit it.

This is an incredibly flexible and rewarding volunteering role - but it can also be stressful. We fundraise according to need, and to the admin team we have - so there is a certain understanding and commitment necessary from our team of Admins in order to take the right amount of requests and process them.  It’s also a role with lots to remember and frequent changes - irregular volunteering means you really don’t get as much out of the role.

Because of the nature of the role, and of the whole voluntary team - we will ask you to do a few things before you apply.

If you haven’t already, please join the Facebook group. This really is the most important first step. Be part of the Friday conga - our weekly fundraising highlight - see responses when they are topped up, and get the hang of how the group works.

All our admins approach things differently- here Kay will take you through her day and show you how she fits the role in with her life.

We'll let you know as soon as we can if we can take your application forward, and reasons why if we’re not able to take it forward.

We look forward to hearing from you!
